STAR RIDER -- THE WORLD'S LARGEST TOY SPACESHIP?
This group of collectibles has a main feature - Star Rider - The Electronic Adventure Machine. This item is the largest toy spaceship --and the only toy ride-on spaceship-- I've ever come across, from the 1970's. As a display item, it looks great with this 33" Superman plush doll who seems to be in command of his ship. A few other unique items are here including a Flash Gordon Ray Gun from the '70's by a somewhat obscure company named Vanity Fair.

Star Rider is the largest toy spaceship and only ride-on spaceship I’ve ever come across. This sleek and streamlined rocketship comfortably seats a small child and is a throwback to 1950’s sci-fi spaceship movie design. To me it hints of art deco in its design. Size: approx. 29 ½" L x 16 ½" H H Requires 2 "D" size batteries and 1 9-volt battery (not inc.).
It is made of some type of strong Styrofoam and plastic mix. Features lights, sound and spinning motion. (Child grips handles to spin the ship around!).
Repair Note: toy requires 1 light socket to be replaced and one wire needs soldering for lights to work, but sound effect does work.
NOTE: I've included with this ride-on toy the 33" plush figure of Superman by Kelly Toy (Never played with - like new; about 2 years old).
The ship comes with an Owner’s Manual that is intact and readable, though it has seen better days. It gives useful information on easy installation and operating instructions. There are also decals (not applied) that have some damage.
The Star Rider spaceship is in excellent shape. Manual says, "For adventures past the boundaries of space and time. Free from the gravity that holds the mind. Fly Star Rider™…fly me away to the limitless realm of fantasy."
The Manual (in part) goes on to describe the adventure: "Power up for lift-off. Fire BOOSTER rockets when you pass through Earth’s atmosphere into space. Then level POWER control for flight. Change DIRECTION to head for Red Star Galaxy, Sector 5. Your mission is to seek out the powerful alien ship of the "Provocator". The manual says the pilot can:
Sighting through the SCANNER as you near Red Star Galaxy.
Press Alarm
Hit Boosters.
Increase Power to MAX.
Test LASERS.
Move into TIME WARP.
Line up target and Detonate! "

Laser light beam. 3 colored beam discs."Requires 1 9-volt and 2 AA batteries (not inc.). Ray gun is approx. 10" L x 4 ½" H Item is incomplete in that it does not have the 3 discs, but if I find them buyer gets them. Box is intact, but has some age marks.
